Impact bruising
A soft, dark spot where the stone crushed the mat under the surface. It is found by hand, not by eye — and it shortens the roof's life by years while looking like nothing at all.

Get my instant estimateHow it works
No high-pressure sales visit, no fee, no commitment. You end up with documentation of your roof's condition whether you replace it or not.
STEP 01
ZIP code and a few quick questions — about a minute. We use this to match you with a contractor who actually works your neighborhood.
STEP 02
They walk the roof, check the shingles, flashing, vents and gutters, and photograph anything they find. You get the full report — usually within 48 hours.
STEP 03
A written estimate and clear answers. If there's storm damage, you'll have the photo documentation you need to file a claim — on your own timeline.
Whatever you decide, all of this is yours to keep:
What we commit to
Everybody says "professional" and "hassle-free". Here is what that actually means in writing, so you can hold us to it.
Every contractor in the network signs up to this. Licensing and insurance certificates on file before they receive a single request, a written estimate and photo report given free every time, and no offer to cover your deductible — which is illegal in Texas and the clearest sign of a company you should not let on your roof.
What hail damage looks like
This is the part most homeowners get wrong. A hail-damaged roof rarely looks damaged. Here is what actually gets found up there.
Most commonly missed
A soft, dark spot where the stone crushed the mat under the surface. It is found by hand, not by eye — and it shortens the roof's life by years while looking like nothing at all.
Easiest to check yourself
The coloured grit is the shingle's sunscreen. Once it's knocked off, the asphalt underneath bakes. If you find coarse black sand at your downspout, that grit came off your roof.
Leaks start here
Wind breaks the seal strip and hail splits brittle shingles. Once a tab lifts, every rainstorm drives water under the course above it and into the decking.
Proof for the carrier
Soft metal records the storm. Dents in gutters, downspouts, window screens or A/C fins tell an adjuster the stone was big enough to matter — which supports what's on the roof.
That is the normal case, and it is exactly why the inspection is free. About thirty minutes, no cost, no obligation.
If the roof turns out to be fine, you get a dated report saying so — worth having the next time somebody knocks on your door claiming your street was hit.

Drag the handle. Left is a roof at the end of its life — bruised, shedding granules, tabs torn off, gutter dented. Right is the same slope after replacement.
They show exactly what an inspector finds and what a finished replacement looks like — drawn rather than staged, because we won't put stock photos of somebody else's crew on our own site.
Real before-and-after photographs from North Texas jobs go here as they come off completed roofs.

When you compare two estimates, this is what you are comparing. Ask any contractor which of these they are replacing and which they are leaving in place — the answer tells you most of what you need to know.
Layer four, up close
Your contractor brings physical samples to the estimate — shingle reads differently in Texas sun than it does on a screen. See all 52 colours on a roof →
Paying for it
In North Texas the large majority of roof replacements go through a homeowners insurance claim, and the homeowner pays their deductible. When a roof is failing from age rather than a storm, insurance won't cover it — and that's where financing comes in.
Typical hail claim
Your deductible is usually all a homeowner pays when a hail claim is approved. Everything above it is the carrier's side.
Coverage, deductibles and claim deadlines are set by your policy and your carrier. Nothing here is a guarantee of coverage.
Who you're calling
After every North Texas storm season, crews from out of state show up, knock every door in the older neighborhoods, sign what they can and leave. We started this because homeowners here deserve a straight answer about their roof from someone who will still be reachable in four years when a warranty question comes up.
Every contractor we send out is licensed, insured, and local. The inspection is free and the report is yours to keep, whether you hire anybody or not.

Questions
Yes — free, and with no obligation to hire anyone. We're paid by the roofing contractor, not by you. There is no scenario in which a homeowner receives a bill from us.
A licensed, insured roofing contractor in our North Texas network — usually within 15 minutes during business hours. We share your details only with the contractor we match you to, and we do not sell your information to marketing lists.
Yes. Most contractors in our network offer financing on replacements, including options with no money down and fixed monthly payments. Your contractor will walk through the exact terms at the estimate, before you commit to anything.
Hail is a weather event, not a fault claim, so a single hail claim is treated differently than an at-fault one. That said, carriers do reprice at renewal and may decline to renew after repeated claims. We won't pretend to know your carrier's policy — ask your agent before you file. The inspection costs you nothing either way.
That's the usual starting point. Hail bruising on an architectural shingle is frequently invisible from the ground and often invisible from a ladder — it's found by walking the roof and checking by hand. The damage keeps working underneath until a leak appears, and by then the claim window may have closed.
Probably not. Texas homeowners policies generally allow a filing window measured from the date of the storm, not the date you noticed. Deadlines vary by carrier and policy, so check yours — but a spring hail event is very often still claimable later in the year.
After a storm, out-of-state crews flood the metroplex, sign as many contracts as they can, and leave. The contractors in our network are North Texas companies with a local address, a real license, and workers' comp — the kind you can still reach in three years when a warranty question comes up.
No cost, no obligation
Sixty seconds now, a free inspection this week, and a written report either way. If the roof is fine, you'll know that too.
